The Future of Silva: The Silva Center
Who:
The Silva Project is an environmental non-profit organization and is collaborating with
Anatoli, a non-profit organization for creative expression and social
inclusion, and Sylva, a European Economic Interest Group for
people with disabilities and the environment.
What:
The Silva Project is constructing an Equestrian Centre that will combine therapy and recreation horsemanship offering an integrated equestrian program that serves everyone from people with disabilities to nature lovers to avid riders. This new facility will expand our current equestrian program, providing room to accommodate more riders and horses.
When:
Construction of the centre will begin as soon as
building permits are approved.
Where:
The Silva Center will be located in Kalafationes, a village that is
just a twenty minute drive from Corfu Town. Corfu is the largest and most
populous of the Greek Ionian Islands.
Why:
To connect people with the environment and to promote
the social inclusion of people with disabilities and environmental conservation.
