Q. What is it like to volunteer in Greece?
A. Volunteering in Greece is a life-changing experience that is sure to exercise your patience, as well as your understanding of another culture.

Q. What will I be doing as a volunteer?
A. As a volunteer you will be privileged to the inner workings of the Silva Project. You will be intimately involved with the research and development of the program as well as gaining hands on experience. It is a chance for you to make a difference in the lives of these endangered animals as well as improving the lives of children with disabilities.

Q. What will my living situation be like?
A. Room and board including a large Greek dinner each day and self-service breakfast and lunch at a Greek homestay with other young volunteers who are equally dedicated to the project.

Q. I don't speak Greek. Will that be a problem?
A. Not speaking Greek on Corfu is not a problem. Most Corfiots speak English. However, Greek is a beautiful language that is quite easy to pick up while you are here.

Q. How will I be able to communicate with friends and family back home?
A. Quite easy. The estate is well equipped with wireless internet and phone cards are readily available in local shops.

Q. How easy is it for me to get into Corfu Town?
A. Getting to Corfu town takes about fifteen minutes by bus. The buses run every half hour and the bus stop is just minutes from the estate. Taxis are also readily available.

Q. I have special dietary needs. Can they be accommodated?
A. Most dietary needs are easily accommodated. Please contact us with the specifics of your concerns in the application.

Q. I am allergic to animals. Will that be a problem?
A. If your allergies are mild and can be alleviated with medication, then your stay will be a pleasant one. However, if you have serious allergies to hay, animal fur, or dust your experience might be considerably challenging. Please take this consideration into account before applying to volunteer.
